Scottsdale Hits the MICHELIN Map: Acclaimed Dining Near Optima McDowell Mountain™

Resident Life

Scottsdale has long been known for destination resorts, spectacular desert scenery, and an increasingly sophisticated culinary culture. Now, the city has another distinction to celebrate: it has officially arrived on the MICHELIN Guide map.

The inaugural 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest, encompassing Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, recognized 19 Arizona restaurants, including four in Scottsdale and another just next door in Paradise Valley. In the guide’s first year, Arizona earned seven coveted Bib Gourmand distinctions—more than any other state in the Southwest guide—along with 12 MICHELIN Selected restaurant designations.

For residents of Optima McDowell Mountain™, the announcement adds yet another dimension to North Scottsdale living. Some of Arizona’s newly recognized culinary destinations are just minutes from home, making internationally recognized dining part of an already impressive neighborhood landscape of restaurants, resorts, shopping, recreation, and entertainment.

Among the 19 Arizona restaurants included in the guide, these five Scottsdale-area destinations put MICHELIN-recognized dining particularly close to Optima McDowell Mountain™.

Hush Public House | North Scottsdale

Located at 14202 N. Scottsdale Road, Hush Public House is the standout for proximity—and a particularly exciting addition to North Scottsdale’s culinary credentials. The intimate neighborhood restaurant from Chef Dom Ruggiero was named a MICHELIN Selected Restaurant for its creative, chef-driven American cuisine. From elevated comfort food to inventive seasonal dishes, Hush has cultivated the kind of loyal following that makes it feel like a neighborhood secret, even as its reputation continues to grow.

INDIBAR | Paradise Valley

Just south along Scottsdale Road at 6208 N. Scottsdale Road, INDIBAR brings contemporary Indian cuisine into the MICHELIN conversation. Led by chefs Ajay Singh and Nigel Lobo, the restaurant earned MICHELIN Selected status for an approach that brings modern technique and presentation to Indian flavors and traditions. Its location between North Scottsdale and Old Town makes it an easy choice for an elevated evening out from the Optima McDowell Mountain™ community.

ShinBay | Old Town Scottsdale

At 3720 N. Scottsdale Road, ShinBay offers an intimate Japanese omakase experience centered on exceptional ingredients, precise technique and a progression of dishes selected by the chef. Its MICHELIN Selected designation places this acclaimed Old Town destination among Arizona’s most notable dining experiences.

FnB | Old Town Scottsdale

At 7125 E. Fifth Avenue, FnB received a Bib Gourmand, MICHELIN’s distinction for restaurants delivering high-quality cooking at a particularly good value. Chef and co-owner Charleen Badman has long been recognized for championing Arizona farmers and producers and creating vegetable-forward, seasonally driven cuisine. MICHELIN also honored Badman with its new Mindful Voices Award, recognizing her approach to gastronomy, hospitality, and the food community.

Reserve | Old Town Scottsdale

Located at 6934 E. First Avenue, Reserve was named a MICHELIN Selected Restaurant, adding another fine-dining experience to Scottsdale’s showing in the inaugural guide. Its intimate tasting-menu format makes dinner an occasion, complemented by a notable wine program. Reserve’s John Germain received additional recognition with MICHELIN’s Sommelier Award, further elevating Scottsdale’s presence at the Southwest awards.

Together, these five restaurants create a remarkable dining corridor extending from North Scottsdale through Paradise Valley and Old Town—and put residents of Optima McDowell Mountain™ within convenient reach of some of the state’s most celebrated kitchens.

For Scottsdale, it is another sign of a city continually evolving as a destination for architecture, design, wellness, culture—and increasingly, serious food.

At Optima McDowell Mountain™, that evolution is happening right outside the front door. From future retail announcements within our dynamic new mixed-use neighborhood to a MICHELIN Selected favorite in North Scottsdale and celebrated tasting menus and Bib Gourmand dining a short drive away, living here puts an exciting new chapter of Arizona’s culinary story within deliciously easy reach.
